If any candidate running in the Democratic Primary thinks that opponents are violating the Election Laws in their race, they should notify the Democratic Chairman at once. The Democratic Party of Cameron County is commited to fair and honest elections.

Throughout our history, Democrats have fought against low wages and poor working conditions and for other needs of America's working families. To help Americans work and retire in dignity, Democrats and Liberal Republicans passed legislation creating Social Security and Medicare, affordable college loans, the G.I. Bill, the 40-hour work week, and family and medical leave.

We need unions! It might appear to some that unions in this country have outlived their usefulness, but it must be remembered that the current administration in Washington, as payback to its corporate and wealthy individual financial backers, from day one has been conducting a concerted and methodical legislative effort to kill unions once and for all. These are the same unions that were responsible in great part for making America’s workplaces safer and more humane, hours of work shorter, and wages and benefits fair and adequate.

Through collective bargaining a great middle income class of citizens was created who developed a standard of living previously unmatched in the world. Today that group of highly productive workers and their families are under threat of economic extinction.

Today, we are still fighting for health care that includes all Americans, not just the very poor and those with union jobs and benefits, but those who are looking for work, for parents, for the disabled, for senior citizens, and for our children. We believe diversity is our country's greatest strength and that we can work together to build a stronger safer world for all Americans.

Our agenda is based on the needs of our citizens not on special interests. The need for an affordable health system has never been more evident. How can we serve you better?
